Supporting children, families and schools
Horsenden Primary School works closely with children’s counselling service, Schools Counselling Partnership; a fantastic service working to improve the emotional wellbeing of children, parents and staff by working with the whole school community.
We believe that all children should have access to support at a young age to encourage positive emotional and mental health. Having access to this service provides our young children with the tools to manage difficulties and changes in a positive way. The Therapeutic Lead for Schools Counselling Partnership at Horsenden Primary School is Araminta De Clermont who is in school on Thursdays. She is available for parents, carers and our staff.
SERVICES FOR CHILDREN
The SPACE: Every Thursday, Araminta will offer a lunchtime drop-in for children who want to talk about any feelings or worries they may be struggling with. The SPACE is a safe, confidential space where children can feel listened to in order to feel better or to better understand their emotions. If you would not like your child to use this service, please notify the school.
SERVICES FOR PARENTS
Araminta offers a safe and confidential place to help if you are concerned about your child or if you would like to talk about any other worries that are affecting you or your family.
CONSULTANCY
Araminta also offers consultancy and workshops to parents, carers and teachers, helping them to better understand the emotional needs of children. She offers support by providing information about children’s emotional development and practical suggestions about how parents and teachers could support children and themselves emotionally.
If you would like to meet Araminta for a confidential and non-judgemental chat about you, your child, or any other worries, she is available on Thursdays between 9am and 10am.
